High school students aged 15–18 in Nepal are eligible. Applicants must have a strong academic record, a genuine interest in teaching and mentoring, and a willingness to dedicate at least 4–6 hours weekly to tutoring sessions or educational support activities. Basic communication skills in Nepali and English are required, and prior experience in tutoring or peer mentoring is considered a plus.
Teach for Nepal Student Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for high school students to contribute to educational equity across rural and underserved areas. Volunteers assist in designing lesson plans, tutoring peers or younger students, and organizing extracurricular learning sessions. The program nurtures leadership, communication, and instructional skills while fostering empathy and community engagement. Through mentorship from experienced educators and participation in educational initiatives, student volunteers gain hands-on experience in teaching and develop a nuanced understanding of challenges in Nepal’s education sector.
